The following works are made from birch-bark collected from dead and diseased birch trees.
Birch-craft has been practiced widely throughout indigenous communities around the world, wherever the birch trees grow.
In what is now modern-day Russia, and the land of my ancestors, birch trees have long been of significant cultural and practical importance. I am proud to carry on the tradition of using this sacred material and to share with you the divine beauty of nature.
The species used include but are not limited to: Betula papyrifera, Betula nigra, and Betula alleghaniensis.
